In regards to the Battle Cruiser Hood & E Class Destroyers

Built-in might 1920, the British Battle Cruiser Hood featured a displacement of 48,360t. Flagship associated with the Royal Navy, for near two decades she was recognized among the globe's largest warships. On 23rd, 1941, the Hood had been accompanied by the battleship Prince of Wales, two F Class destroyers, and two E Class destroyers, while they attempt to hunt down mammoth German battleship Bismarck and heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen. On early morning associated with 24th, Hood engaged the German vessels, firing at Prinz Eugen. The German vessels came back fire with Hood hit by Bismarck. The hit penetrated the woman deck, detonating the woman ammunition and leading to an explosion blowing the Hood in half. Combined with the loss of its symbolic flagship, the Royal Navy also suffered the increased loss of 1,416 men, their best lack of WWII. The two E Class destroyers which accompanied Hood, Echo and Electra, escaped unharmed. Echo and Electra were built in 1934 and showcased a 1,350 ton displacement with a top speed of 36 knots. Echo proceeded to do convoy responsibility in the Arctic and Mediterranean with Electra serving within the Pacific including serving in Battle of Malaya and Battle for the Java Sea.
