Towards German Tank Destroyer Jagdpanther Later Variation The Jagdpanther showcased a powerful 88mm gun mounted in a superstructure featuring 80mm armor at the leading and 50mm during the edges. The front and side armor dishes had been sloped to further improve their protective energy, providing the Jagdpanther its imposing, wedge-shaped appearance. Weighing in at 46 tons and propelled by the effective Maybach V12 cylinder engine, this tank destroyer showcased a great stability of fire energy, security and flexibility. A total of 415 Jagdpanthers were generated by 1945, most equipping battalions in the Eastern Front, although some were utilized in the West to be a part of the Ardennes Offensive.
