Tamiya keeps focused on incorporating more variety toward 1/48 Military Miniature Series and today proudly brings you the final variant associated with the Panzer III, the Ausf.N. Line it using the previously released Ausf.L and Sturmgeschutz III variants for a display of the Panzer III?s development history.

　

About the Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf.N The rugged Panzerkampfwagen III was found in all theaters by the German army in WWII and was popular because reliability. But the dimensions limits of the tank?s chassis meant that armament improvements were limited and its own effectiveness as a battle tank diminished as the Allies produced more complex and powerful tanks. With this realization, the last variant associated with the Pz.kpfw.III, the Ausf.N, had been modified into an infantry support tank armed using the short-barreled 75mm weapon from Pz.kpfw.IV, that has been being upgraded with increased effective weapons. Starting from June 1942, 700 among these Ausf.N variations, also referred to as Sturmpanzer III, were made and were often assigned to separate Panzer Battalions to safeguard the heavier Tiger tanks. The 5mm Schurzen armor skirt improvements had been added from the spring of 1943.
