This Tamiya 1/48 rendition of the Type 95 Kurogane gives modellers a small-scale yet faithful interpretation of the wartime light 4x4. Its tooling reflects careful study so the finished model reads correctly on the display shelf or in diorama vignettes.
First produced in 1935, the Type 95 had around 4,800 units built through 1944. The air-cooled V2 engine and durable suspension made it versatile for liaison, reconnaissance and staff transport roles over difficult terrain. The kit outlines those features to aid accurate replication in scale.
Tamiya keeps the build process clean with well-fitting parts and realistic surface detail, avoiding unnecessary complication. A metal transfer recreates the grille star while two figures, a Japanese Army Air Force officer and a driver, are provided to populate scenes with other 1/48 aircraft or support vehicles.
