The Tamiya 32606 1/48 scale M5A1 Stuart captures the compact silhouette of the American light tank used in World War II. Designed for reconnaissance and skirmish duties, the M5A1 upgraded the earlier Stuart with twin V8 engines enabling speeds of up to 58 km/h. This kit brings those defining elements into a well detailed miniature.

Modelled features and wartime context

This kit reproduces the welded hull and sloped armour and includes the updated turret armed with a 37mm gun and a 7.62mm machine gun mount. Other modelled items like track grousers reflect the vehicle types seen in theatres such as North Africa, Italy and the Western Front.

Parts, finish and presentation notes

Newly moulded front and upper hull components and a detailed turret are included, showing weld seams and cast textures. The straight one-piece track sections simplify assembly and a commander torso holding binoculars is supplied. Two decal schemes allow finishing as vehicles from the 3rd Armored Division, representing Western Front service in July 1944.
