Towards British Quad Gun Tractor

During WWI, numerous countries started using motorcars for various military purposes including hauling guns. Automobiles had been classified in several groups according for their purpose including armored cars, tanks and self-propelled guns that carried hand-held artillery, and gun tractors which were designed for hauling tools. During this time, the British, who had many advanced level full-track and half-track technology, started realizing the benefit of using motorcars in the military. They started developing several tractors for the single intent behind hauling artillery. The British produced uniquely shaped gun tractors, referred to as 'Quad', which had an angular human anatomy and quick wheelbase with big wheels. These four Quad gun tractors had been developed: Guy Quad Ant, Morris Commercial C8 Mk we & Mk II Quad, Karrier KT 4 Indian Quad, and Canadian Military Pattern (CPM) Quad stated in Canada. The armed forces mainly make use of the CMP Quad throughout the war, due to its quality and mass production. The CMP Quads including the FAT-2 Quad gun tractor had been very good cars and an easy task to operate. They proceeded on active service in British Commonwealth forces for about 15-20 years even after the war.
