Tamiya's 35093 captures the Russian SU-122, a wartime self-propelled gun that used the T34 chassis and mounted a 122mm howitzer. The SU-122 was an important asset in engagements such as the Battle of Kursk where its firepower challenged German heavy tanks.
This 1/35 plastic kit reproduces the SU-122's design including its angled hull and gun casing. Model builders will appreciate the representation of welded joints and cast textures that make paint and weathering work more effective.
The kit lets you assemble hatches either open or closed and position the main gun at different elevations for display effect. A crewman figure is included and optional parts allow adding a spare fuel tank bracket for extra authenticity.
The SU-122 makes a solid centrepiece when combined with other 1/35 Tamiya armour and Soviet infantry figures, enabling dioramas that convey frontline action and period atmosphere.
