The Tamiya 1/35 Marder 1A2 MICV kit presents a faithful scale interpretation of the German infantry fighting vehicle. It balances clear construction stages with parts that reproduce the real vehicle's profile and fittings.
Origins of the Marder go back to the 1960s with prototypes that shared traits with the HS30. Subsequent redesigns improved internal layout, including relocating the engine to the front right. The Marder 1A2 variant added the Milan antitank fit and received incremental upgrades through its service life.
This kit features detailed exterior mouldings, a rotating turret and flexible track sections for realistic presentation. Engine bay detail and functioning hatches are modelled to enhance close-up inspection and diorama work.
While instructions are pictorial and thorough, the kit contains small parts that require patience. Use plastic cement for structural joins and apply decals carefully. A subtle weathering pass lifts panel detail and gives the model a scale-authentic look.
