In regards to the German Panther Type G Early VersionBecause of its many advanced and revolutionary features, the planet War II German Panzerkampfwagen V, known as the "Panther" tank, is still considered by many ordnance specialists as a weaponry masterpiece. The growth of the Panther came to exist as a result of successes produced by the Russian T-34, which has become a critical hazard towards the German forces through the mid area of the conflict. Mass production for the Panther began through the springtime of 1943, along with its advanced mechanics and powerful Type 42 L70, 70mm primary gun, the Panther tank demonstrated its solid power during front line action soon after its introduction. A few improvements were suggested as a result of its initial work, leading to the Panther Type G, which begun to appear in spring 1944. Major improvements consisted of additional side armor slope perspectives and simplified set up refinements for mass manufacturing. The powerplant of this Type G Panther was a Maybach HL230-P30, V-12 cylinder, watercooled engine producing 700 horsepower. This powerplant was mated to an improved transmission to eliminate gear malfuntions available on earliar models. An innovative torsion club suspension system and compound roadwheels enabled superb off road operating ability. Major contractors MAN, Daimler-Benz, and MNH all tooled-up to manufacture the Panther Type G version through the latter part of the war, that three produced 3,740 out of a complete of 6,000 units created by all organizations.
