The Tiger I heavy tank earned its reputation in World War II as a powerful counter to the Soviet T34. The mid-production version, rolled out between July 1943 and January 1944, featured operational tweaks including a redesigned commanders cupola and Zimmerit anti-magnetic paste applied to the hull to guard against magnetic mines.
Tamiya 35194 reproduces the mid-production Tiger I with careful shell and suspension detail. About 470 mid-production Tigers were built and many served on the Eastern Front. This kit is aimed at builders who want authentic external detail for display models or battlefield scenes.
The kit supplies finely moulded plastic parts, separate track links and a German soldier figure to add scale to dioramas. Waterslide decals and clear pictorial instructions help with accurate assembly. The parts lend themselves well to painting and weathering for a rugged finish.
