The Tamiya 1/35 scale model of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Type 90 Tank with Mine Roller captures a slice of modern engineering. Originating from late 1980s development, the Type 92 Mine Roller entered service in 1992 as an add-on for the Type 90 to clear pressure and magnetic mines ahead of the vehicle. After removal the main battle tank continues its normal role.
