The Semovente M40 was an Italian self-propelled gun inspired by the German Sturmgeschutz III. Built on the Carro Armato M13/40 chassis, it mounted a 75mm howitzer and had up to 50mm of armor to shield its crew. The vehicle saw service in North Africa from late 1941, performing in both offensive and defensive operations.
This Tamiya 1/35 kit recreates the Semovente M40s compact shape, with a finished length of about 143mm. It includes assembly-type tracks and well-modelled accessories such as tools and exhaust covers. The kit comes with photo-etched parts for the ID plate and AA sight, plus two crew figures—a standing officer and a seated driver—and three marking options with decals.
