The Birmingham Small Arms Company is noted for wartime engineering, including the BSA M20 motorcycle produced from 1939. Converted for military service, the M20 carried a Lucas lamp and reinforced components. Its single cylinder 500cc engine delivered about 12hp, making it a dependable utility machine across services.
In Tamiya's 1/35 kit the M20s distinctive details are modelled precisely: front and rear suspension, the fuel tank air intake and saddlebag mounts. The set comes with two period figures, one seated rider and one military police figure, plus an MP decal sheet for authentic marking.
Beyond assembly the kit is designed for display in period scenes. Small Normandy road signs help set the stage for diorama builds. Builders will benefit from pre-shading, careful masking and gentle weathering to emphasise mechanical detail.
