Using the Panzer IV running gear, the Jagdpanzer IV was fitted originally with shorter guns before being rearmed with the 70-calibre gun. Selected production runs by Vomag supplied vehicles that served in both defensive lines and counterattack roles during late 1944 and early 1945 operations.
