Tamiya made 1/48 Arado Ar. 196A (37006) Propeller Aircrafts Military Series assembly kit

In 1938, the German company Arado built the Ar. 196A twin-float reconnaissance seaplane. After being chosen whilst the champion of a design contest, the Ar.196 became the typical aircraft of German Navy during WWII. This seaplane had been running on a BMW132K air-cooled motor which produced 960hp. The 196A is equipped with two 7.92mm firearms, two 20mm cannons, and two 50kg bombs. The Arado Ar. 196A had been carried aboard the Bismarck battleship, the Prinz Eugen heavy cruiser and many other camouflaged cruisers. These planes served as commerce raiders and were deployed to many seaside squadrons for use in reconnaissance and observation. It exhibited exemplary attacking performance up against the Allie ships and submarines. Just 600 planes had been produced in the A-0 model towards A-5 final variation.
