Service History and Modifications

The M109 family traces back to a 1952 U.S. development programme and became a global artillery workhorse. The Bundeswehr M109G featured distinctive tracks, a modified cupola, smoke dischargers and extra turret storage. Upgrading to the FH70 gun extended the system's range to about 24.7 km, and that layout remained in use until 2007.

This 1/35 kit captures the M109A3G-specific elements like the cupola and FH70 barrel while improved moulding highlights small features such as the panoramic telescope. Track pieces are supplied in a cementable and paintable material, making them straightforward to fit and finish.
