Starter Designed for On-Body Use

The Tamiya 41079 Handy Starter is made to let you start glow engine RC cars while the body remains mounted, saving time in the pits or workshop. It supports a variety of driven gear units so you can keep the shell in place during ignition.

Compatibility and Overload Protection

The Handy Starter is compatible with ITEM 41076 Driven Gear Unit A, ITEM 41077 Driven Gear Unit B and ITEM 41080 Driven Gear Unit C, covering common glow engine setups. A FET switch and internal safety circuit provide protection against overload while delivering steady starting torque.

How to Fit and Operate the Starter

Operate the starter by inserting the drive shaft into the driven gear unit and pressing the starter button. To use it without removing the body, cut access holes for the glow plug heater and the starter shaft so both can be positioned correctly.

Power and Accessory Notes

This unit requires a 7.2V battery and a glow plug heater, both sold separately. These accessories supply the current and heat needed to start your glow engine reliably.
