Stiffen and Tune Your TRF416X

The Tamiya 42182 - TRF416X Carbon Fiber Upgrade Kit supplies precision carbon parts and solid aluminium fittings to firm up the TRF416X chassis. Designed for racers who want reliable rigidity and straightforward battery placement options for different setups.

What the Kit Contains

Included are a 2.25mm carbon lower deck and a 2.0mm carbon upper deck to increase chassis rigidity. The kit also contains aluminum spacers and lock nuts to strengthen mounting points, plus three battery mount styles so you can tailor battery location to suit performance goals.

Specifications

  • Lower Deck: 2.25mm Carbon Fiber
  • Upper Deck: 2.0mm Carbon Fiber
  • Aluminum Spacer: 2pcs
  • Aluminum Lock Nut: 2pcs
  • Battery Mounts: 3 Types
  • Aluminum Battery Post: 2pcs
  • Aluminum Servo Mount: 1pc

A practical choice for club competition and practise sessions, this kit improves chassis feel while keeping installation manageable.

Wipe the decks with a soft cloth after running and inspect mounting holes for wear. Avoid solvent cleaners that can affect adhesives or protective coatings.
Carbon decks and aluminium hardware typically change weight distribution slightly but their main effect is stiffness rather than large weight gain or loss.
Depending on your battery mount choice you may move the receiver and ESC slightly for balance. The kit keeps options open so you can optimise layout without major rewiring.
The kit includes the key aluminium spacers and lock nuts, but for best results use the supplied hardware or match screw lengths to avoid interference with components.
The aluminium servo mount gives a rigid base and fits standard mounting positions; any angle changes should be managed with linkages rather than altering the mount itself.
