The Tamiya 42271 aluminium damper retainers are made for RC machines fitted with Big Bore Aeration Dampers and bring a modest 2mm drop to the spring position. That extra adjustment lets you tune ground clearance and balance when tackling rough tracks or loose surfaces.

Are these retainers salt or mud resistant?

Do I need to change shock oil after fitting?

Changing the oil is not mandatory for the retainers themselves, but when you disassemble shocks to fit them it is a good opportunity to inspect seals and refresh oil if due.

Is any trimming required for installation?

No trimming should be necessary on correct Big Bore Aeration Dampers; they are sized to match Items 54504 and 54505 directly.

Will these change camber or toe settings?
