The Tamiya TRF420 chassis kit advances the TRF419 platform with focused upgrades that improve adjustability and on-track behaviour. It is built to give racers a wide tuning window while remaining serviceable for regular maintenance.

Refined Drivetrain and Pulley Improvements

The belt-driven 4WD drivetrain combines a rear gear differential with direct pulleys at the front and centre for balanced torque distribution. New diff pulley and case parts shave off about 1.5g and reduce oil seepage for steadier performance between services.

A refined plastic insert on the front direct pulley cuts roughly 2g and makes replacing the direct cups much simpler, removing the need to dismantle the whole pulley unit.

Adjustable Suspension with Broad Range

Suspension arms designed for bushing inserts broaden the available lever ratios so you can tune roll and traction precisely. The 3mm rear arm offset helps shorten the lower deck for improved rear traction. Multiple mounting options let you tweak toe, roll centre, and caster to suit track conditions.

Updated steering linkage and a new pivot component allow quick steering adjustments, helping dial in turn-in and mid-corner stability without lengthy disassembly.

Component Weight Reductions for Better Dynamics

Key parts were lightened to enhance handling, including wheel axles that are about 1.5g lighter and stronger 3mm stainless suspension shafts that increase chassis rigidity. These refinements target improved balance and agility on cornering.
