The Renault 5 Turbo made a big impact on rally stages in the late 1970s and 1980s thanks to its compact power and distinctive stance. Tamiya faithfully recreates that car at 1/10 scale, mounted on the rally-focused M-05Ra chassis for genuine handling characteristics.
The M-05Ra is a rally-tuned derivative of the M-05 that adapts the platform for both tarmac and loose surfaces. It retains front-wheel drive and a narrow semi-monocoque resin frame, with 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension and revised hub carriers and uprights to raise clearance by 5mm.
The kit includes a clear polycarbonate body plus a separate plastic front bumper for scale detail. Window masks and stickers are supplied to aid painting and decoration. The 210mm wheelbase takes 8-spoke wheels and rally block tyres out of the box. Optional Hop-Up parts allow for handling and durability upgrades.
The Tamiya 47435 Renault 5 Turbo is suitable for hobbyists at many skill levels and makes a compact, tuneable platform for rally-style RC driving.
