Thunder Dragon Classic Rally Buggy

The Thunder Dragon reissue captures the spirit of Tamiya's 1988 off-road design while providing a robust platform for hobbyists. It pairs the original aesthetics with a practical 1/10 chassis, featuring shaft-driven 4WD, double wishbone geometry and an ABS bathtub chassis built for regular trail use.

Sturdy Chassis, Controlled Suspension

The ABS bathtub format offers a rigid, low-maintenance foundation that handles rough terrain. Power is transferred through a central shaft to both diffs to balance traction. CVA oil-filled dampers and a front stabiliser smooth bumps and aid stability in fast changes of direction.

Retro Shell, Straightforward Assembly

The clear polycarbonate body includes silver pre-paint accents and is supplied pre-cut and ready for stickers, so you can focus on setup. Large spiked tyres on ABS wheels improve grip on loose ground and underline the vintage racing look.

The spiked tyres are best on loose surfaces like dirt and gravel. For sandy or very soft conditions you may want to try wider tyres or different tread patterns for improved flotation.
A standard size servo with sufficient torque for off-road use will suit this chassis. Choose a reliable metal-gear unit if you plan on aggressive running.
Yes. Adjusting damper oil weight, spring rate and anti-roll setup will change handling. Small incremental changes help find a balance between comfort and responsiveness.
The body comes pre-painted with silver highlights but is still clear polycarbonate. If you want a custom scheme, use recommended polycarbonate paints and mask carefully to preserve original details.
