Mitsubishi came ready to excel on earth Rally Championship featuring its Lancer Evolution VII. This device, that has been developed thanks to Mitsubishi's experience racing in Group A, comes with evolved variations for the 2-liter 4-cylinder engine, differential with active control locking system, as well as other mechanics. The Evolution VII made its debut in the 11th round regarding the 2001 season in Sanremo and proceeded to fight in the first 1 / 2 of 2002 period.
