Track-Focused Carbon Deck for TA-07

The Tamiya 54745 Carbon Reinforced Lower Deck upgrades the TA-07 by replacing the stock FRP lower deck with a carbon fibre reinforced nylon resin component. The result is increased torsional rigidity that improves precision and predictability on high-grip surfaces such as carpet and sealed asphalt. This part is aimed at drivers who want to fine-tune chassis flex for lap-time improvements.

What the Carbon Deck Changes

Using carbon reinforcement reduces chassis flex under cornering load, which helps deliver quicker steering response and steadier exits. On low-grip or loose surfaces the firmer deck can make the car more nervous, so choose your deck based on track conditions.

Installation and Thread Care

Careful preparation of the mounting holes will extend service life. Pre-tap the screw locations with the Tamiya Item 54232 RC M3x0.5mm Thread Forming Tap and install screws with balanced torque to avoid damaging the nylon resin threads.

On high-grip carpet the increased stiffness often improves cornering precision and can shave tenths by reducing unwanted flex and improving repeatable handling.
The carbon reinforced nylon construction is chosen for stiffness rather than raw weight reduction. Any weight change is small and secondary to the handling benefits it brings on high-traction tracks.
A basic RC tool set plus the Tamiya 54232 M3x0.5mm tap for pre-tapping is recommended to protect threads and ensure a tidy, secure installation.
