Tamiya 57777: WRC Styling in a Ready-to-Run Package

The Tamiya 57777 - 1/10 XB Suzuki SX4 WRC (TT-01 TYPE-E) packages classic WRC aesthetics into a hobby-ready car. The full-size SX4 ran in the 2008 WRC season with a turbocharged engine and 4WD, driven by competitors like Toni Gardemeister and Per-Gunnar Andersson, and recorded points at events including Monte Carlo.

Sturdy TT-01 TYPE-E Chassis Build

The TT-01 TYPE-E chassis offers a practical balance of strength and serviceability. Fiberglass-loaded resin parts such as the damper stay and gear case strengthen key areas, and the updated uprights on both ends help the model resist impacts during spirited driving.

Tighter Steering and Added Rigidity

Upgraded steering linkage that uses TA05 steering posts improves steering precision for sharper cornering. The redesigned upper deck improves chassis stiffness and provides a mount for a transponder, useful for club timing and events.

Authentic Bodywork and Complete Electronics

The lightweight 1.0mm polycarbonate shell mirrors the SX4 WRC body shape and includes injection-molded side mirrors and a rear wing for realism. The RTR setup includes an ESC (TEU-101BK), a Type 540 motor and a 2-channel radio, plus front and rear LED lights. A 7.2V battery and charger are not included and must be purchased separately.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/10
  • Chassis: TT-01 TYPE-E
  • Drive Type: 4WD
  • Motor: Type 540
  • Body Material: Polycarbonate
  • Included Features: ESC, LED Lights, 2-Channel R/C System

The Tamiya 57777 is a solid choice for hobbyists who want a realistic rally model with ready-to-run convenience, and it responds well to basic tuning for those wanting more competitive handling.

The included ESC and Type 540 motor are fine for general use, but many hobbyists fit higher-spec motors and ESCs when seeking stronger acceleration or more precise control.
The 1.0mm polycarbonate body trims and paints like most Tamiya shells; use polycarbonate-specific paints and take care when cutting to preserve mounting points.
Regular checks of drivetrain mesh, suspension pivots and servo linkage will keep the car performing reliably; replace worn parts and keep gears clean and lubricated.
Replacement polycarbonate bodies, mirrors and wings are typically offered through parts suppliers, making repairs straightforward after minor impacts.
