Ride and Slide with the Tamiya 57801 Nissan GT-R

The Tamiya 57801 Nissan GT-R brings the GT-R profile to a 1/10 scale drift-ready package, combining a realistic shell with a TT-01ED platform tuned for controlled oversteer. It marries scale looks with practical chassis features for drift sessions.

Why the TT-01ED Suits Drifting

The TT-01ED chassis uses a fiberglass-reinforced nylon upper deck and reinforced gear covers to reduce unwanted flex, improving consistency during slides. Super Driftech Tyres help initiate controlled drift angles, and the double wishbone setup along with CVA Super Mini oil dampers keeps the car responsive to steering input.

Detailing and Drive Components

The polycarbonate body is detailed with separate side mirror and rear wing parts for a tidy finish, and LEDs mounted in metal-plated cases recreate realistic headlights and taillights. Power comes from an RS540 Sport-Tuned Motor paired with an aluminium motor heatsink to manage temperatures during extended runs.

Tamiya 57801 Nissan GT-R is a dependable drift platform that balances scale appearance and chassis reliability, suitable for club nights and practice sessions alike.

Basic gear like a balanced battery pack, a spare set of tyres and a transmitter with dual-rate is enough to begin practising drifts effectively.
Polycarbonate bodies flex and resist shattering, but replacing or repairing scuffed sections after repeated impacts will keep the model looking sharp.
The included forward/reverse ESC provides basic control; for advanced mapping and braking you can fit an aftermarket programmable ESC compatible with the RS540 motor.
Regular checks of drivetrain lash, diff oil, and damper seals along with keeping the motor heatsink clean will keep performance consistent.
