Miniature Version of a Supercar Icon

The Ferrari F40 hit the spotlight at the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show as an emblem of performance and engineering. Built for Ferrari's 40th anniversary the car incorporated Formula 1 influence including a tubular steel spaceframe and lightweight Kevlar and carbon fibre bodywork. Its mid mounted twin turbo 2936cc V8 enabled speeds in excess of 320km/h, earning it a place in automotive history.

A Faithful Limited Reissue

The Tamiya 58356 RC Ferrari F40 is a limited reissue that revives the early 1990s kit with a fully finished body. The model reproduces the F40's lines faithfully and comes with a painted polycarbonate shell and applied decals so it looks accurate from the start.

Durable Composite Platform

This 1/10 scale kit uses a composite chassis integrating front and rear spaceframes with an ABS resin bathtub superstructure. An FRP plate reinforces the underside and the suspension combines front kingpin coil springs with a rear T bar and CVA oil dampers for controlled responses on the road.

Direct Drive and Ball Diff

The drive arrangement is a direct drive 2WD setup linking the motor to the spur gear and featuring a ball differential to add limited slip behavior for smoother cornering. The realistic polycarbonate body arrives pre painted with markings already applied for immediate authenticity.

Basic modelling tools like side cutters, files and hex drivers are needed; a dremel and fine brushes help with trimming and touch ups but are not mandatory.
A 2 channel radio and a reliable steering servo are sufficient for scale running. Choose a quality ESC and 540 class motor to match your desired performance level.
Avoid abrasive cleaners and consider a light clear coat or protective film on high wear areas to keep the finish looking fresh after running.
Yes the ball differential can be tuned for more or less slip by adjusting the preload and grease level to suit handling preferences.
