The Tamiya 58657 Land Rover Defender 90 brings the short-wheelbase classic into a 1/10 RC kit form, combining authentic styling with a capable CC-01 undercarriage. It is built to take abuse on rough trails while retaining scale looks.
The CC-01 chassis provides full-time 4WD driven by a front-mounted motor. Drive is split via a front gearbox and a prop shaft with universal joints to the rear for dependable torque transfer. The suspension layout pairs front double wishbones with a rear 4-link rigid system and four CVA oil-filled shock absorbers for controlled damping. Builders can opt to lock the rear diff during assembly for greater traction.
The polycarbonate body reproduces the Defender 90 lines, complemented by separately moulded ABS parts for the grille, mirrors, lamp units, and spare wheel cover. The tyres and matte plated wheels carry a realistic tread look. The model is set up to accept LEDs so you can add functional headlights and taillights.
The included ESC supports both brushless and brushed motors with limits of 21.5 turns for brushless and 23 turns for brushed setups, and the gearing is adjustable to tune response. The kit requires a radio system, steering servo, battery and charger, plus paint for the body to complete the build.
Tamiya 58657 Land Rover Defender 90 combines authentic scale character with a durable CC-01 chassis, making it well suited to hobbyists who want a tough, tunable RC truck.
