Referred to as the "Wooden Wonder," the De Havilland Mosquito used wood construction to achieve high speed and agility in an era dominated by metal airframes. The FB Mk.VI variant, introduced in 1943, carried an armament load that included four 7.7mm machine guns, four 20mm cannons and the capability to carry four 500 lb bombs.
The Tamiya 1/32 model reproduces the Mosquitos form and cockpit detail with precision. Measuring 515mm in wingspan, the kit gives model makers the choice to show the bomb bay open or closed. Clear engine cowling parts are included so you can display the Merlin engines as part of the finished model.
Model builders can select between slim line or paddle type propellers to match different service periods. The exhausts can be constructed uncovered or with covers fitted, giving extra scope for customising the appearance.
