The Mosquito combined clever wooden construction and powerful twin Merlins to become one of the fastest multi role aircraft of its time. Its lightweight structure let it tackle precision strikes and reconnaissance tasks with speed and range that surprised many contemporaries.
Originally questionable to some due to its minimal defensive armament, the Mosquito proved highly effective. The Fighting Bomber Mk. VI carried ordnance for ground attacks while night-fighter versions were adapted with radar and heavier armament to counter night raids.
