The P-47D Thunderbolt gained the Razorback tag for its raised fuselage section and was a mainstay in World War II air operations. Equipped with a supercharger and an engine around 2000hp, it handled high-altitude work alongside bomber streams. Its eight 12.7mm machineguns and strong airframe meant it could absorb damage and carry ordnance for ground attack roles.
This 1/72 scale Tamiya kit faithfully reproduces the early-production P-47D silhouette, including a sharply tapered rear fuselage and distinctive belly shape. The parts layout uses mirrored fuselage halves and built-in joining beams to aid precise wing positioning and a solid build integrity.
