The Vought F4U-1D Corsair earned recognition in WWII for its performance from carriers and land bases. This 1/48 Tamiya release recreates the aircraft and includes a scale Moto-Tug, giving modellers an opportunity to build both flying and support elements for a compact display.
The F4U-1D version addressed visibility and landing concerns with a new canopy and revised landing gear. Tamiya reproduces these updates in the kit, and underwing pylons are provided for ordnance. The Moto-Tug reflects wartime modifications by Ferguson and complements airfield dioramas.
New rocket mount parts expand display possibilities, and you can present the model with folded wings for storage or extended wings for flight scenes. Included pilot and driver figures add narrative, and the decal sheet includes three marking options for variety.
