The Tamiya 70211 Arm Crawler Assembly Kit mixes practical construction with learning, offering a tangible way to examine mechanical systems. It is part of the STEM lineup and encourages builders to explore how components interact in a moving model.
Equipped with four rotating tracks - two on the body and one per arm - the crawler moves over a range of surfaces. Each arm turns independently, allowing it to pull itself past obstacles up to 45mm and illustrating basic mechanical leverage.
All required parts are included, using a combination of snap-fit and screw connections to speed the build. The motor includes a pre-fitted switch so wiring is simplified. A rear stay is supplied to provide extra balance during climbing tests.
To add remote control or dual-motor operation you can fit accessories such as the Twin-Motor Gearbox (item 70097) and the 2-Channel Remote Control Box (item 70102), which expand testing and play options.
