• In 1975, Walter Wolf, a rich Slovenian-Austrian-Canadian businessman purchased Frank Williams Rushing Automobiles and developed Wolf Racing. The F1 team featured the popular Wolf WR1 race vehicle, that has been driven by Jody Scheckter. In 1977, the Wolf WR1 made its debut during the Argentine Grand Prix. The WR1 automobile completed in 11th place. Through the 1977 competition period, Scheckter drove the WR1 to three victories and a standard 2nd place finish into the driver's championship.
