Classic NSX Model: Tamiya 84385 Collector Kit

Inspired by the Honda NSX appearance in the 2014 Super GT series, Tamiya released the 84385 kit to capture that era in scale. The model blends collector appeal with a layout made for tuning and driving.

Underpinnings and Ride Feel

The Tamiya 84385 uses a strong plastic bathtub chassis with a direct-drive arrangement. Rear mono-shock on a T-plate and a front kingpin coil spring setup produce responsive handling, while the independent front and solid rear axle combination keeps the car stable. Oil-filled dampers manage impacts effectively.

Scale Looks and Grip

The body is made from polycarbonate to mirror the NSX lines while keeping weight low. High-grip sponge tyres and foam slick tread are chosen for traction and precise steering on smooth surfaces.

Speed Components and Upgrades

Equipped with a 540-brushed motor, the platform offers dependable speed. Since the ESC is not supplied, you can match electronics to your performance needs. Gear ratio and ride height are adjustable to fine tune lap times.

Specifications

The Tamiya 84385 - 1/10 RC Honda NSX is aimed at hobbyists who like to configure electronics and gearing. It delivers a rewarding build and a controllable, tunable on-road experience.

Allow a few hours for assembly and initial setup, then additional time to dial in suspension and gearing for your preferred handling.
Foam tyres generally require no adhesive, but check fitment and trim as needed to ensure they sit correctly on the wheels.
The polycarbonate body needs polycarbonate paint to achieve a durable finish. Prep and masking will help get accurate panel lines and trim.
Regular checks of drive train, shock oil seals and tyre wear will keep performance consistent. Replace worn foam tyres and refresh shock oil when needed.
