The 1/48 scale Henschel Hs-123A-1 fighter plan model by Italeri includes a group of Tamiya original drum cans and Jerry cans as used by Luftwaffe to hold airplane fuel, causeing this to be model ready-made to be used as a diorama centerpiece.

Towards Henschel Hs-123A-1

Developed in 1935, the Henschel Hs-123A-1 served as a ground-attack fighter in the Spanish Civil War and WWII. Running on an 880hp air-cooled BMW132 engine, the open-topped Henschel was considered obsolete by the beginning of WWII. But its low-speed stable flying made it perfect as a ground assault fighter during the German Blitzkrieg offensive. From 1941 it also served regarding Eastern front side, in which it gained pilots' trust because durability and high working price. The very last Henschel's disappeared from the field in summertime of 1944.
