Tamiya 94786 Brake Sponge Set for Controlled Mini 4WD Handling

The Tamiya 94786 Brake Sponge Set supplies three friction grades so Mini 4WD racers can fine-tune braking balance for different track layouts. The set supports MS, Super XX, and Super 2 chassis, allowing targeted adjustments to improve corner entry and mid-corner stability.

Each sponge comes as a 5cm x 5cm sheet for easy trimming and placement. The package contains double-sided tape, metal parts, and an FRP plate to secure the sponges in place. If you run Super X, TZ-X, or VS chassis, compatibility is possible by fitting Item 15243 FRP Rear Roller Stay and the 15407 Stainless Steel Screw Set D (40mm).

What are the three friction types used for?

The low, medium, and high sponges let you tune how much the car slows or grips at contact points. Use them to balance speed versus stability on cornering sections.

Do I need extra parts for certain chassis?

MS, Super XX, and Super 2 do not need extra adapters. For Super X, TZ-X, or VS you will need Item 15243 and 15407 to mount the assembly correctly.

Can I trim the sponge sheets to size?

Yes, each 5cm x 5cm sheet is intended to be trimmed to the shape you need. Use the supplied tape and FRP plate to test fit before final attachment.
