Tamiya 94969 JR Brake Set - Blue Brake Plate and Spacers

The Tamiya 94969 JR Brake Set gives Mini 4WD drivers a compact way to refine braking on an AR chassis. The kit contains a blue brake plate, a pair of different brake sponge types and various spacers so you can tweak how the brake interacts with the track. Adapters are included to let you try alternate mounting positions for the plate.

The plate is formed with a skid angle intended to reduce speed loss on grass track segments, which can be useful when transitioning from high to low traction surfaces. The unit fits AR, MA and Super II chassis out of the box, and can be adapted to Mini 4WD PRO chassis if you add a separately available FRP plate.

Will the blue plate increase drag on straight runs?

When set up correctly the plate should not add noticeable drag on long straights. Use thinner spacers and firmer sponge to reduce resistance while keeping braking where needed.

How do I choose between the two sponges?

Try the softer sponge first on twisty club layouts for better bite, then switch to the firmer option on faster tracks to prevent excess slowdown. Track testing is the best way to decide.

Are extra fasteners needed to fit this kit?

The package provides the required adapters and spacers for AR, MA and Super II chassis. For Mini 4WD PRO chassis an FRP plate is needed separately to mount the assembly.
