Summary of the Tamiya 95505 Special Edition

The Tamiya 95505 set commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Mini 4WD Fully Cowled Series, packaged as a wheel and tyre upgrade for enthusiasts. It includes gold-plated spiral spoke wheels and red low-profile tyres marked with "FULLY COWLED MINI 4WD 25th ANNIV." The combination adds period-correct styling while remaining practical for track use.

Appearance and Chassis Fit

The gold-plated spiral spokes give a classic racing look that matches many shell designs. Red low-profile tyres use a tougher compound to help retain speed on corner exits. These are compatible with Mini 4WD and Mini 4WD PRO chassis, although some body or chassis clearance modifications can be required.

Race Use and Visual Upgrades

  • Improved Exit Speed: The firmer tyre compound helps maintain speed after turning.
  • Standout Finish: Gold and red elements produce a strong visual theme for custom liveries.
  • Installation: Fits Mini 4WD and Mini 4WD PRO; small adjustments may be needed depending on the build.

I have ordered multiple times with RCJAZ and never had issues. The first time I did had ordering issue was a missing item from my order but they were quick to respond and ship the item. I will be ordering more for sure with them
The gold-plated finish is mainly cosmetic. The wheel weight is typical for plated spoke designs and should not dramatically affect standard Mini 4WD balance.
The white sidewall script is applied as commemorative detailing. With regular race use it may show wear over time, especially on abrasive surfaces, so handle with care during fitting and maintenance.
Gearing changes are not mandatory, but because the tyres favour corner speed, some racers adjust gear ratios to optimise top speed versus acceleration depending on track layout.
