This adjustable main shaft is an aftermarket upgrade for the TAMIYA CC01 scale chassis, combining a 6061-T6 alloy outer body with a hardened steel swing cross head to provide a balance of lightness and durability for trail crawling.
It uses an aluminium 6061-T6 sleeve together with hardened steel #45 cross head swing shafts, retaining the cross-pin interface while reducing rotating mass. The universal cross head increases available steering angle and helps when negotiating tight obstacles that demand extra articulation.
The measured total length is 126mm and the part is suited to short chassis configurations with a 240mm wheelbase. Basic removal of the CC-01 drivetrain is required to swap the factory main shaft for this adjustable shaft, which is designed for hobby RC use.
The kit contains the small hardware for reassembly as referenced in the original product notes and targets steering geometry tuning and drivetrain weight reduction rather than changing gearbox design.
This shaft is ideal when you need a lighter alloy body plus a hardened steel cross head to widen steering articulation on CC-01 short-wheelbase crawlers while keeping installation straightforward.
