These front and rear shock towers are manufactured for the Tamiya CC-02 chassis in blue anodized aluminum, sold as JR-CC203-LB. They replace the stock plastic tower to give a stronger mounting point for the shocks and reduce chassis flex where the shock tops attach.
Installation is done using the CC-02's original hole pattern and standard hardware; no cutting or drilling is normally required. During fitting, make sure the shock shafts move freely and that bolts are tightened to a firm but non-binding torque to prevent preload on the suspension.
The boost in rigidity at the shock top helps when running heavier vehicles, higher cornering loads, or more aggressive driving styles. Because the top end becomes less compliant, fine tuning of oil viscosity, spring rate, or top mount position may be necessary to reach the desired handling balance.
