This aluminium hi-torque servo saver and matching aluminium tie rod were developed for the Tamiya CW-01 (Lunch Box) platform and come as a single matched set. Replacing flexible plastic savers with this metal assembly reduces deformation under load and improves the transfer of steering inputs, while the aluminium tie rod gives a stiffer steering link.
The saver features a 25T interface compatible with many hobby servos that use 25-tooth splines. The focus of the aluminium construction is on stiffness and consistent feedback rather than damping. Verify spline fit and servo horn clearance relative to your CW-01 geometry before completing installation.
Fitting guide: remove the stock saver, seat the 25T spline onto the servo shaft, secure the servo horn as normal, then attach the aluminium tie rod to the steering linkage and check for full, binding-free sweep. Keep the recommended minimal free-play to avoid passing impact loads directly into the servo.
Tuning notes: this part sharpens steering feel; if you encounter increased steering feedback or intermittent binding, revisit horn alignment and link length and use small transmitter trims to restore neutral steering.
