This aluminium servo saver and tie rod set is an aftermarket replacement for the Tamiya CW-01 (Lunch Box) chassis, part LB024TM. It replaces softer factory parts with a more rigid servo linkage and a removable 24T splined saver interface.
The assembly works as expected: the servo saver soaks up impact loads to protect the steering gearbox while the aluminium tie rod gives a tougher steering link. On fitting check the servo output spline count and secure the tie rod ends with correct hardware to avoid steering bind.
Installation notes: remove the stock saver and tie rod, transfer any required spacers or ball cups, then press the aluminium saver onto the servo spline and attach the aluminium tie rod to the steering knuckles. Confirm full travel and centre position before use and re-check fastener torque after initial running.
Tuning guide: a firmer aluminium saver and tie rod cut steering flex and sharpen steering response, but they can deliver higher shock loads to the servo. When upgrading to aluminium, consider softer components elsewhere or a servo rated for higher torque.
