Upgrade Plate for MF01X Motor Bay

This aluminium motor plate is an aftermarket component for the TAMIYA MF01X chassis, intended to replace the stock plastic mounting plate with a stronger aluminium alternative.

Compatibility and role: created to serve as a direct motor mounting point on MF01X chassis configurations. The extra stiffness reduces unwanted movement and helps retain correct motor alignment for reliable gear meshing.

Installation notes: the part fits within the motor bay using the chassis's existing mounting points. Installation generally involves removing the original plate, fitting the aluminium plate to the same locations, and securing the motor with the vehicle's standard fasteners and common hobby tools.

Tuning considerations: fit this plate when you need a firmer motor anchor for heavier motors or to cut down on flex under acceleration and braking. The metal plate also offers better passive heat transfer away from the motor than a plastic plate.

Does the plate require any chassis trimming?

No trimming should be necessary when used with standard MF01X chassis layouts, as it mounts to the factory points.

Will this affect driveline noise or backlash?

By keeping motor alignment firmer, the plate can reduce intermittent backlash. It may transmit more noise through the chassis compared with plastic, so expect a slightly different NVH profile.

Are additional heat management steps needed?

The aluminium helps passive dissipation, but continue to monitor motor temperature under heavy use and use standard cooling practices if running high power motors.
