Performance-minded rear gearbox cover for TA01/TA02/DF01

This aluminum rear gear box cover is a bolt-on replacement for the original rear cover on Tamiya TA01, TA02 and DF01 chassis. It functions as a rigid top plate across the gearbox area, replacing the stock unit to deliver reduced flex where the gearbox meets the chassis.

Manufactured for the specified Tamiya platforms, the part arrives in red aluminium and secures using the OEM mounting points. Installation replaces the factory cover with the alloy piece while keeping screw positions and alignment; check gear mesh and ensure all screws are seated and torqued correctly after fitting.

From a tuning perspective the plate stiffens the rear mounting interface to keep gear alignment steadier when the car is under load, helping with repeatable gear-mesh and rear-end balance adjustments. Normal maintenance remains accessible through the same removal steps as the original cover.

  • Compatibility: Made specifically for TA01, TA02 and DF01 chassis only.
  • Material and finish: Aluminium, finished in red as listed in the title.
  • Tuning role: Increases rear gearbox stiffness and supports consistent gear alignment.
  • Installation note: Installs on existing mounting points; always verify gear mesh after changeover.

Items arrived exactly as I ordered and in good time. Very happy with RcJaz products.
Remove the OEM rear cover, position the alloy plate using the factory holes, hand-start screws then torque evenly. Once fitted, rotate the drivetrain to confirm correct gear mesh before final tightening.
By stiffening the rear mounting, the cover can make rear-end reactions more consistent under load, which may alter handling feel and help with predictable setup changes.
Yes. The part uses the stock mounting points and fits like-for-like, but novices should still verify gear mesh and ensure fasteners are correctly tightened.
