This aluminum front damper stay is produced as a direct replacement for the stock mount on TAMIYA Thunder Dragon and Thunder Shot buggies. By replacing the flexible plastic piece with a machined aluminum stay, the mount resists deformation and provides a stable datum for damper positioning under cornering and braking loads.
To fit: remove the original stay, move across any existing top caps or spacers, and attach the aluminium stay with the original screws. Use the appropriate hex key sizes, check that the stay sits flush before final torque, and avoid overtightening to prevent stripping threads. If you prefer, a small amount of compatible thread locker may be applied to steel fasteners.
Tuning implications: this part enhances repeatability of damper placement so that changes to spring rate or shock damping yield more consistent results. It does not alter the intended suspension geometry; always verify there is no interference with the shock towers or steering components after installation.
