The WW2160ST turnbuckles are an aftermarket set intended for the TAMIYA Wild Willy 2 WR-02 chassis, supplied as six anti-thread links made from spring steel. They are designed to replace standard threaded rods where vibration and frequent inputs can cause backing out.
These parts perform two main functions on a WR-02: retaining steering and suspension link connections, and providing easy, predictable adjustment for alignment tweaks. The spring-steel design retains thread engagement while allowing a small amount of flex to resist self-loosening when subjected to shocks.
Fitting mirrors normal turnbuckle replacement: remove original rod ends, ensure matching thread pitch and length, fit the turnbuckles and secure each end, then check steering sweep and suspension articulation for any binding. Use padded pliers or hex tools carefully to protect threads on spring-steel components.
Setup notes: use these turnbuckles to lock in small trim changes, recheck engagement after initial runs, and include them in routine checks. They stabilise link behaviour without altering the base geometry of the WR-02.
