This clamp-type wheel hub is made as a machined 6061 aluminium replacement for the stock plastic hub found on certain TAMIYA 1/10 kits. The design uses a slotted clamp with a cap screw so the hub slit closes as the screw is tightened, gripping the axle and reducing the chance that the 2 x 10mm stainless steel shaft will drop out during wheel removal.

Using 6061 aluminium increases the rigidity of the wheel mounting and helps maintain alignment under load, supporting more consistent wheel tracking and repeatable setup changes. The kit is supplied with Grade 12.9 cap head screws and 2 x 10 steel pins to match the original clamp retention system.
