Tuning notes for SCW040 ride-height shocks

This Kyosho SCW040 adjust shock set includes two red, ride-height adjustable shocks intended as a replacement pair for the Tomahawk 85WC. The dial-type mechanism provides stepless adjustment of static ride height, enabling fine increments without fixed detents.

To install on a Tomahawk 85WC follow normal 1/10-scale shock replacement steps: remove the old shocks, fit the lower and upper mounts to the suspension and chassis, and secure with the original fasteners. The set contains 2 pcs designed for the Tomahawk 85WC geometry.

If you want to fit these on a Scorpion-series chassis, use SCW038 or SCW039 conversion parts as required. After setting ride height with the dial, re-check wheel clearance and suspension travel to confirm the tuned position.

Yes. Altering static height will change suspension travel and may require rechecking spring preload and damping to retain the desired handling characteristics.

Do I need conversion parts for Scorpion-series fitment?

Conversion to Scorpion-series requires SCW038 or SCW039 as indicated. Fit those parts first, then mount the SCW040 shocks and verify alignment and clearance.
