X-MAXX rear spiral bevel replacement

The STXM1200R rear spiral bevel gear is offered as an aftermarket replacement compatible with TRAXXAS X-MAXX drivetrains. Manufactured from hard steel, it is intended to replicate the shape and alignment of the original rear bevel set without claiming improved performance metrics.

Fit this gear when replacing damaged or heavily worn rear bevels or when carrying out a routine drivetrain inspection. Specific installation steps vary by chassis and should follow the model service instructions or a competent technician's advice.

Before running the vehicle verify gear mesh, check bearing condition and shaft fit, and apply appropriate lubrication and endplay settings. This product functions as an aftermarket drivetrain accessory for hobby models.

Good material quality vs stock. But I think the ring gear needs to be designed better! As the meshing is too loose. The ring gear needs to be a bit thicker like the stock one to move the teeth closer to the pinion. Shimming the pinion helps a little bit.
The part is a hard steel replacement matching original geometry; inspect supporting components and ensure correct setup for heavy duty use rather than relying on the gear alone.
Only change other gears if they show wear or if recommended by your chassis manual; maintain correct mesh and alignment when replacing parts.
Follow the torque and fastening guidance in your vehicle service manual. Avoid overtightening which can distort bearings or housing alignment.
Inspect bevels during regular maintenance intervals or after impacts; replace at first signs of tooth wear, chipping, or excessive backlash.
